GE cooktop ignitors won't fire with rear knobs
Model Number: JPG628bec2BB Brand: GE Age: 5 - 10 years
When you turn the knob for either front burn to "light" all four ignitors fire. When I turn the knob for either rear burner to "light" none if the ignitors fire.
For me to light a rear burner I must turn the gas on for the rear burner with the corresponding knob, then use one of the front burner knobs, turning it to light so that the rear ignitor will spark lighting that burner. What might be the reason why all the ignitors work when a front knob is turned to "light" but none work when a rear is turned to "light". They obviously work but only with certain knobs. Most likely the problem is a bad ignition switches for these burners. All igniters are on the same circuit and it is normal for them to spark together.
The model number you posted does not come up. Verify and repost it. Gene.
