Our Bake element burned out, so we removed the element and then purchased a new one. The old one was hooked up with a black wire on the left and a yellow wire on the right.

When we pulled on the wires slightly in order to connect the new element, a third wire appeared, poking out of the insulation. It's not connected to anything. It's a black wire that looks exactly like the black wire that was hooked up to the old element. We're pretty sure that it was not hooked up to the old element in any fashion, but of course we want to exercise all caution with this installation, in case it's a grounding wire or something.

Any thoughts on what that wire is or if it's okay to ignore it? Thanks!
