Hi.
i bought this Jenn-Air Oven off Craigslist for $100. Great deal right? Well now that it is installed, I have noticed the display is SUPER dim (can't even see it unless it is dark in the house) and the doors won't stay closed...The oven works, I just need help with these 2 things.
Is it something I can fix ( I know ZIP about ovens),
or should I hire someone?

Dim Display.
You have 2 options:
1. Replace the display (Item 3 in Section 2).
2. Try fixing the board. There is no guarantee that this will fix the problem but it is a lot cheaper than replacing the board so if you or a friend has experience soldering electronics it may be worth a try. What happens is that over time the electrolytic capacitors in the display power supply dry out/fail and it then does not get the correct voltage. Note: It is important that the polarity of the replacement capacitors be the same.

Dim display thermador double oven

Door Closing.
Not sure if this is a single or double oven so have included both kit numbers.
Try removing and re-installing the door, sometimes it is just not mounted correctly.
Does look like they have had problems with these units, see the below kits.
Issue: Door not closing/Door not engaging light switch.
Action: The following kits will contain Hinges, Hinge Assembly Receptacles, and Instruction Sheet
