WE just bought a house and realize why they left the range, but took the fridge.

This range has 5 elements. 1 of the items is a warmer which wont heat up at all. 2 of these are dual elements 1 works great.....for 10 seconds... The other one the inner portion doesn't work at all and the outer works great. The burners on the rear seem to work right now, but yesterday 1 of them did not work.

Any help would be appreciated.

Here is a manual. Although it does not list your unit it may still be helpful.

You have a bit of a job ahead. You will need a meter to check the elements.

The problems could be the element is burned out, the thermal limiter for that element is no good (open), a wiring problem or the infinite switch for that element.

The easiest way to troubleshoot would be to check the wiring to the element and then check the element itself with a meter. If theses are OK then I would replace the infinite switch.

Be sure to unplug the unit when doing this.
I would also disconnect the element when checking it, this ensures that you do not read a parallel/alternate circuit path.

Be sure to mark and/or make yourself a diagram and/or take a picture of any wires you disconnect just to be sure they go back where hey belong.

Thank you for the information.

I have unplugged the range and opened the hood. I have setup my meter the way the link has directed. I have touched some leads and some seem to react some do nothing. I am a little lost as to which ones are supposed to react on which way. Also the tech info doesn't seem to list a resistance that it is supposed to be for the elements.

Could you take a look at the pictures and point me in the right direction?

Here is a manual which should help. Take a look at page4-8.
http://appliancejunk.com/forums/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=184

Looks like all elements are 1200 watts this should be approximately 50 ohms.

The warming element should be approximately 150 ohms.

The heating coil is hard wired to one side of the limiter assembly so the pin/connector opposite should be 0 ohms (closed) at room temperature.
The 2 contacts farthest away from the element hosing (1B & 2B) will be the hot surface indicator. It should be infinite ohms (open) at room temperature.
