Whirlpool #sf386peww1, gas range: oven control/time clock issue. I can not keep the range plugged in due to it will start beeping and I get a F5 error on the screen. Non of the buttons controls work. Someone please help. Can I bypass this time clock to get my oven to work???:(:confused::confused::confused:

I believe F5 on this model indicates that one of the push buttons on the clock are stuck in. Which makes the clock think more then one button is being pushed at once. Carefully look at each one and see if one is in further then the other. Sometimes where they come through the front panel the shaft part of the button will drag.

If that isn't the case then I'd say you'll need a new clock.

Can't advise on doing any bypassing.

Thank you very much!!! I did take apart the time clock and did notice the the OVEN OFF button did not pop back out. So I exchanged the button from SELF-CLEANING option(since I would not use this) to this and still no oven or control options. I did look up on-line and I did see something that F5 could mean stuck oven latch.

Again Thanks,

Make sure about that latch being the issue. I realize F5 can mean that on Whirlpool built ranges, but on the sf3 model prefix it is usually button/clock related.

Someone else may want to chime in on this.

Thank you again for getting back to me!!

I did try the range again last night. Tried the Hard Reset and again after a minute or less I get the F-5 error and beeping. I had to unplug the unit.

Thanks,
