Dear Technical Support,

We have a Whirlpool Microwave Gold model GH7155XHS-0 & our son has scrapped off some of the inner seal tape in the center of the glass (~10mm hole).

The microwave is in good working order and it appears the replacement part # is AP4301215.

My question: If we chose not to replace this seal tape - is there a risk for microwave exposure to rays ... or it is just aesthetics. I would prefer not to mess with it & just leave the slight damage.
