I bought a 30 inch slide in range (Whirlpool) model #RY160LXTQ last summer and the oven racks that came with in are extremely tight fitting when they are in the oven. The inside width of the oven is 23 inches and the width of the racks are 22 15/16. That gives an allowance of only 1/16 of an inch. When the oven is hot, and I guess the walls expand, it is really hard to pull the racks out. I went back to the store and they no longer had that model but the only other Whirlpool oven had a similar problem. The repairmen that the store sends out to correct the problem keep trying to tell me that I'm doing something wrong - that I need to lift the racks before pulling them out. Try doing that with a heavy casserole on the rack! It's crazy. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Try coating the outside rods of the rack with a light coating of vegetable oil.
You may also want to do this on the slides of the oven walls.

It should make them slide easier.

Thanks for the advice, denman, but I think it would only be a very temporary solution and the vegetable oil would burn in the hot oven.

You will be surprised at how long it lasts.

Give it a try after all you have nothing to loose.
