Purchased 12-12-2000, The oven's electronic ignitor will not work, but after trying for several attempts it would light and work fine for years. Now the igniter starts and the burner is kicking on but going off after about 2 seconds as the burner shuts itself off.

Sporadic oven burner ignition caused by an intermittent bake burner operation.

The bake burner and the bake igniter have been modified by Whirlpool to assure consistent oven ignition and performance.

You have to order and install a new bake burner and a bake igniter assembly.

- The part number for the bake burner assembly is AP3598752

Here are the break down diagrams for the Whirlpool range Model SF385PEGQ5

 Hi I have a Whirlpool accubake SF325PEGW6 with oven problems. The oven quit working about a year ago and the oven valve got replaced. It worked fine for about 10 months. It quit working AGAIN. Assuming it was the same problem we replaced the oven valve (WPL3195008) again with no luck!!. The igniter glows bright orange during the pre-heating but gas NEVER comes out of the valve again. I don't want to spend any more money. Is it the igniter that is bad?? is it the control circuit?? why does the igniter glows orange? please help, thanks
