I have a GE Prfoile stove. The center burner (large oblong under the hot plate) exhibits a problem. When I turn it on only a few holes near the igniter will light with flame.

The flame level is very low. I can light parts of the rest of the burner with a match but, again, the flame is very low.

I thought maybe the burner top holes were clogged and I washed and poked each hole with a wire. They are open. I also put the wire down the center of the gas jet under the burner and there doesn't seem to be any restriction there.

It seems like there is too little gas coming out despite having the knob turned to 'High".

Any suggestions as to what the problem could be

Thanks all!

Hi. Came across your post with the same problem as me. Did you come up with a solution: GE Profile center burner very weak. Thanks...appreciate your tips.
