The oven has quit working. It may have started before I cleaned it but I am not sure. I saw another post that indicated that the problem could be the thermal switch p/n 414633. I had previously installed a new control unit so I thought that I knew how to get to the thermal switch as the diagrams indicate that it is near the control panel and under the cooktop.
I am able to disassemble the stove to the point that the sheetmetal piece that holds the control panel is loose but it will not come out and the sheetmetal appears to be hung up on the bottom edge of the cooktop. I do not recall removing the cooktop when I installed the control panel but may have. I do remember that good instructions accompanied the replacement unit and it was a relatively easy task.
Question 1. Should I have to remove the cooktop to access this switch? Question 2. How do I remove it? (I did attempt to remove the 20mm nuts on the burners on the cooktop but the two large ones did not want to come free so I stopped.
Any directions and/or comments would be appreciated. I hate to staart buying parts without checking out the thermal overload comonent.
Thanks in advance
