TURN POWER OFF TO OVEN BEFORE DOING ANY TESTING. Remove element from oven and disconnect wires form element. Using an OHM meter you test the element for continuity. Take the meter leads and touch them to the terminals where the two wires would go. Easiest terminology...if there is no movement on the meter whether digital or analog, the element is open and would need replacing. If you get movement or if the meter shows an infinte reading chances are the element is ok and you will have to start looking else where for problems.
