i have a ge glass top stove. there is one double burner with one switch that is causing me problems. the small side works fine but the larger outside rings don't come on. i have tested the switch looking for shorts when the switch is turned on. i get shorts when both sides are turned on, one at a time. i have been told by a repairman that is very rare for the element to burn out. any ideas out there?

The model number you posted does not come up. Verify and repost it please.

What did you mean when you said about the switch

Where did you find the model number you posted? It does not come up anywhere. It can be incorrect or the unit can be much more than 10 years old.

If you already replaced the switch, then the heating element itself is the culprit. In such situation with the model number I'm not able to find the correct part number for the heating element. Unless you can post the part number from the original part.

Gene.
