Question Burner won't ignite
Model Number: 3IHA-92KX   Brand: Magic Chef   Age: More than 10 years

The front left burner of my Magic Chef won't ignite. The gas does get through, you can hear and smell it but the igniter/flame never catches.
I've lifted the stove lid but i don't know what part i need to replace as it looks like both burners are on the same igniter.
Thanks.

I'd say the burner switch is bad. Each valve has a switch sitting right on it, behind the knob. When you turn the knob, it activates the switch which sends the signal through the spark module to the igniter. There is a small chance that the module itself is bad, but most likely it's the switch.

Your model calls for a couple of different spark switches. The way to find the right switch is by using the serial number. If you post your serial number here, I'll tell you which switch is the right one for your stove. The serial number can be found on the same tag as the model number. Alternatively, you can post all the numbers off the old switch and I can find it that way.

Thanks,

It's not very clear which one of these two switches is the right one for your model, so please look at both photos to confirm:

- First choice
- Second choice

I have had this problem with my magic chef a few times. 2 burners will work fine and 2 will not light. it is always the spark module. i just ordered my 3rd module today. with luck this one will last more than a few years
