The broiler element in my Whirlpool Gold Accubake stopped working. I ordered another one from this site and replaced it. It still does not work. Yes, I plugged the oven back in. :)
When I initially removed the back of the oven and disengaged the wires from the element, I noticed the cream-colored insulation stuff where the element and wire meet was discolored and dark-looking on the left side (from the back). I thought at the time this was an indication that the problem was with this side of the broiler element; however, upon replacing the element and still receiving no heat, I am now wondering about the wire itself.
The oven bottom element is heating fine and all stove burners working properly.
Can you give me some direction?

Thanks!

Here are your parts.
Replacement parts for GR563LXSS 1 models | AppliancePartsPros.com

See the attachment for the tech sheet/wiring diagram.

You will see a thermal fuse in the broiler wiring.
Unplug the unit and one side of the fuse and measure it with a meter.
Should be 0 ohms.

I believe this is Item 9 in Section 1 of the parts.

Okay, I replaced the broiler element and the thermal fuse. I bought them both from this site. However, the broiler is still not working. Any other suggestions?

Thanks!

I am assuming that you did not measure them with a meter.
If you did what were the readings?

If both are OK and the wiring is OK then odds are that the control board needs replacing.

I would check the new parts with a meter, it is not unheard of that new parts are no good.

I am sorry - after my replacements were unsuccessful, my husband got out his little meter thing and checked everything. All parts, old and new were good. He went over everything in the back. On the circuit board, where the bake, broil, and warm seem to be controlled, he said the two on the left (standing behind the stove) had no open circuit, the one on the right did. These are prongs with two wires per prong, attached right behind the buttons for the bake, broil, and warm on the front.
Is this useful information or would you prefer for him to respond?

He believes this must mean the circuit board needs to be replaced. If this is the case, where might we find one for him to put replace it with, and what kind of cost are we looking at?
