Replacing the Cntrl-elec (Part Number: AP4089341) for Jenn-Air model JJW8527AAW:

1.) SHUT OFF POWER to the oven.
2.) Enter the model number at the find parts tab.
3.) View the diagram showing the Control Panel and associated parts.
4.) The control panel can be removed with a Phillips screw driver. There are 4 screws below and under the
Control Panel. Remove all four.
5.) Now place your hands on both sides of the Control Panel and with CONTROLLED force lift up then out. I
emphasize controlled force since above your Control Panel like mine may be a microwave oven. Wives
are not cool when their appliances are chipped by oafish husbunds.
6.) Remove the three "ribbon" cables from the cntrl-elec from right to left. You may want to mark them so
they are replaced properly. I needed my wife's hands for this while I held the Control Panel. Be careful
not to bend the pins. I marked them with electrical tape.
7.) Use a flat bladed screw driver to pry up both ends of the 17 wire "ribbon" cable. Remove it by hand.
8.) Using a 1/4 inch hex rachet wrench to remove the four screws holding the cntrl-elec to Control Panel.
9.) Notice the old cntrl-elec's orientation. Now replace it with the new cntrl-elec with the same orientation.
10.) Fasten the cntrl-elec to the Control Panel with the hex screws.
11.) Carefully replace the 17 wire "ribbon" cable.
12.) Now carefully replace the three "ribbon" cables.
13.) INSURE all of the cables and wires are securely out of the way before replacing the Control Panel. I
read on two posts where apparently this was not done and one or more of the cables and/or wires was
damaged. This is not an easy fix. In fact for someone of my skill level this is "call the Jenn-Air repair
technican time."
14.) Replace the Control Panel and fasten it in place with the screws from underneath.
15.) Turn on power to the oven and test all functions to insure a successful implementation of the cntrl-elec.
