Oven Door Locked

Model Number: RB260PXYB0 Brand: Whirlpool Age: More than 10 years

The door latch was damaged trying to open the door immediately after a cleaning cycle. The door can't be opened with the latch in the open position. Any suggestions in opening the door to get to the latch mechanism to repair it?
