HI, My Frigidaire oven stopped heating again. A few months ago it did not heat, I replaced the element and it has been functioning fine until yesterday. Today I popped the back of the stove off to check the element and the white wire at the element was fried and black on the end. The connector was burnt off the wire.
The element seems OK, it measured about 18 ohms. Voltage at the plug is right where I would expect. Why would the wire fry? The rest of the stove, including the small side oven and broiler work OK.
Any help is appreciated.

Quote:... Why would the wire fry?... It can happen because of poor connection at the heating element terminal caused overheating. If that terminal is fried badly then it's better to replace the heating element. Cut off the burned part of the wire and install a new wire terminal. - The large oven Bake element Part number: AP3867386
