My snorkel was stuck up, but the motor is making the normal sound and turning off and on fine. Thanks to this thread, I was able to read the service manual, and I have determined that the drive linkage is bent. When I removed the nut and washer, it allowed the snorkel to go down, but I can't get the J-box off because I can't get to the gear motor arm to remove that screw. I think that the bent drive linkage is making it stuck so when it became disabled, it was in the up position. Now, although that the snorkel is down, the gear motor arm is still hidden behind the j-box that won't budge. I've gotten this far without an expensive service call... can anyone help?
