My front left burner is not working. It has a expanded element that works if you turn the knob to left but if you turn to the right it doesn't work. Is the element broken, or the control?

Hi.
Need a bit more info: what exactly works when you turn the control knob to the left? And what does it say on the control knob?

Nothing works... The LCD display above the control states a setting like HI-LO depending on how far you turn the knob... However the burner doesn't go on. When I turn to the right the element that links the front and rear burner turns on and gets hot (normal operation)

Thanks

To properly determine which part is bad you need to perform the continuity test using the multimeter, checking both round elements inside the left side large element. If it is bad - replace it. If it is good - replace the control board.

The bridge element Part number: AP3561425
Part number: AP3561425

The control board Part number: AP4499660

I didn't quite figure out how to do a continuity test, I was using my brothers multimeter. Anyway I did a voltage test and no volts were coming out of the red and the black wire that was wired to the burner that was not working. Does this help you any? In determining which part I need to replace. Also is the control board the same as the ERC, cause I changed that out a few months ago to get the oven working again. But i assume they are different? Thanks!

Hello, Keaka.

If you not getting 240v to the element then most likely the problem is bad surface elements control board. It.s different from the ERC.
I posted the part number on my last post.
Let me know the outcome.
Good luck.

PS You can return any unused parts purchased from APP, even if you installed them.
