Model Number: RM288PXS Brand: Whirlpool Age: More than 10 years
The problem is limited to the microwave, this is an oven/micro built in unit and both the oven and micro are controled at the same control board. The main 20amp fuse that feeds the control board keeps blowing out, but the customer had put in 30amp and that worked for a few cycles. I installed a 20amp slow blow fuse. That seemed to fix it. I put the casing back on, and tried heating some water one more time. As soon as I fired it up it took the fuse out again. I think there is a problem in the control board x-fmr, like a winding that is shorting out intermetantly,
