I recently bought a new oven safety valve for my gas stove from your website. The install went very easy and I was excited to have a working oven again. Upon turning on gas oven, flames shot up into the cook area of the oven. Obviously there is way too much gas being supplied. Is there anyway to turn the gas down? I should mention as well that this is a propane stove, could the part be set up for natural gas? Any help would be very much appreciated. Thank you

What is the complete model number of the oven and part number of the gas valve you purchased?

Sorry for not including the info requested on previous post. Thank you for replying so promptly. The model number of the stove is FGF337BCC. Purchased safety valve remains in the stove, because it allows us to use the cook top. The series of numbers on old safety valve are as follows
0347M214372GNAT
NC-4125-5
77411170010
Y-30128-35
The parts looked the same, however I did not cross check numbers before installing. Thank you again for any help you can provide.

Have you used the actual range model number to obtain the part number for the gas valve?
Is the top burners flame OK?

Yes, I used model number of oven when purchasing safety valve and the range top is functioning fine.

To do the next step you will need an adjustable wrench. Very carefully turn the gas valve orifice half a turn CW. Then check the flame. Repeat the process if needed. Also check the burner for a burned through holes.

Thank you very much for the info. I had to turn the gas valve orifice quite a few turns but the flame is now where it is suppose to be. I appreciate your help a great deal, my wife will be very pleased.
