I purchased a replacement part to replace my malfunctioning ignitor on my old 1984 Magic Chef oven, Model # 31CB 3KX serical #10X319 821705. It replaces the "long" ignitor with a "short" ignitor. I went ahead and replaced the long ignitor with the short one and it works. But the new "short" ignitor has some portion of the wire exposed to the heat of the oven, where as the old "long" ceramic ignitor extended out the back of the oven not allowing any portion of the ignitor wires to be exposed to the heat.
My question to you is, will the wires be okay with the heat of the oven?
