My oven seems slow to ignite and come up to set temperature.
I've removed the bottom panel to observe what is happening, and here's what I saw. The glow plug get hot quickly, then after about two minutes the burner lights with a very low flame. After a while it the flame pulses and gets slightly stronger, but never really gets to a high flame. Pressure into the stove is fine (all top burners work well). I suspect there is a control valve problem in the oven section. While wating for it to ignite there is a faint smell of gas (not good!!), which I suspect is caused by the valve opening slightly, but not enough for the gas to reach the ignition coil.
Is this something that is worth reparing (as opposed to buying a new stove), and is it something I can do myself (I'm somewhat handy but not a pro). Thanks.
