We are the proud new owners of a 1950's Vesta oven. It is the kind of stove that you have to light with a match each time that you use it. The burners all work fine....very powerful flames and great heat.

To light the interior, you depress the knob and turn it, then light the flame with a match. It lights nicely, but we can't get the oven to stay on (inside) when we release the knob.

Is the problem with the knob, or the pilot light, or gas flow, etc.? We welcome any ideas, as we haven't been able to find a proper repairman in our area.
