I don't know the model number or age of the stove. The problem is that the automatic electric ignition system is not working properly. The number i have provided in the model number field was taken from the small box on the rear of the stove from where the wiring emanates. The age I've indicated is a guess.
The symtoms as follows:
-when I turn on the right side burners, I see sparking and they turn on -the left side has no such sparking, although will sometimes light however only if the right side is lit -the oven does not light either
incidentally, the anomoly/kicker is that nothing will work unless a particular wall light switch is turned on!
the oven ac cord is plugged into a separate wall outlet which as far as i can tell had no relationship (other than this oddity) to the wall light switch
I have the sense the ignition is partially working, however only when the current is properly flowing. I feel the wiring in the basement may somehow connect the light swith with the oven's outlet. I don't know how to measure the current. Also this may not account for the lack of spark on the left side and or oven.
Hopefully you can help
Thanks//Joe
