I have a counter top glass cook top with 4 burners, (2 large and 2 small) While using one day the pan cover flipped over on top of the hot glass cook surface causing it to melt. We allowed it too coolo before removing it and when we removed the plastic, a small divit of the glass cook top came with it. The spot is directly over the top of one of the large heat element areas. We have continued to use the glass top, but not that large burner. Question is is it safe to use this larger burner with out it fracturing teh entire top, or does it need to be replaced. If replacement is the suggestion, is it worth the change verses whole new cook top, as many times the repair is more then the new unit? ( I have pictures for any one interested to help answer)
