Dear Gene or anyone who can help,

My mom's got one of those tricky SMW272s that's giving her the ol' dim panel treatment. You can barely make out the clock numbers but no readout on the temp. This meddlesome problem has been going on for some time now. The unit is less than 7 years old. How do I remove the display panel and what parts do I need to replace? Thanks respectfully for your time.

Hi Majestik

In order to fix the problem you have to replace the display head together with the main power board. Both parts coming as a kit.

You can find the complete instructions in the file attached to the post.

- The part number for the display head kit is AP3383663

- Here are the break down diagrams for the Thermador oven Model SMW272B

Good luck.
Gene.

Gene,

Regarding the SMW272, yeah followed the instructions--opened upper oven (microwave) door to locate panel screws but none visible. What about prying plastic cover panel off by inserting screwdriver at corner edge? Thanks for your reply.
