I just replace an old 6" rear element ,My wife was using that element on the stove when it began to shoot sparks,alot of sparks she said she turn th eye off . the element was burnt into on the first circle . I have replace the element with a new one but the element does not work . what could else need replaceing the wires look good still none burnt off or discounected . would it be the nob ( switch) where on turn that eye on. can you help solve the problem

There might be a problem in the terminal block the element plugs into (see the following link) or the electrical contacts inside, the switch that controls that element or in the wiring between those components.
