oven won't light. glow igniter doesn't go on. no power to it. checked for power at oven control knob nothing. circuit diagram shows a 5 amp fuse in circuit for oven glow igniter, can't find it. top burners work fine. just before failure wife heard sparking sound, then oven stopped working. found shorted wire at gas safety, repaired it, but can't find fuse. any idea where it is or type. thanks

Model Number: s610-3kx

I believe the "0" in the model number above should be a letter.

On some models it is inside the manifold panel (behind the burner knobs).

It could be an O. I removed the manfold panel looking for it,wasn't there and to check for voltage at the oven control. no voltage. looked for an inline fuse. according to circuit diagram its on the red wire between oven control and igniter. Went to back opened up the covers found red wire from above, but no fuse. Could I be looking at it and recognizing it.

I meant besides the obvious "O". Maybe C, D, G, Q, etc. Did you double check it?

You traced the wire all the way from the control to the ignitor?

I don't know, it should be a automotive buss type fuse in some kind of housing.

wire leaves manifold area, goes into side wall and shows up in the back. I can't believe its hidden in the oven wall. looked up diagram for magic chef 61h . it looks identical to my unit but doesn't show a fuse.

Did you try a continuity test from each end of the wire to see if current can flow though it unimpeded?

Continuity would mean there is no open fuse in that circuit so that couldn't be your the problem?? No continuity would mean there is something wrong in that wire somewhere.

Did you recheck the model number on your appliance's identification tag?

Rechecked model number its right. Daughter bought the house 2 months ago, stove could be over 10yrs old. I will be away for next few days and won't be able to work on it til 7/14. Will check continuity when I get back. I'll let you know what I find. Thanks for your help.
