Hi All,
I am having trouble with a Magic Chef gas range Model Number 3121WTV. When I pull out the broiler pan and attempt to light the pilot, I am clueless as to where it is. The flame is out completely and I am unfamiliar with this oven as it was already present in the apartment I moved into. I see a rectangular object in the rear just to the right hand side of the middle of the oven, but would like to know exactly what I am doing before I attempt anymore than I already have. Any positive, constructive feedback will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

When to light the pilot...

Your range uses an electronic ignition system (see the following link), it has no "pilot" that needs lighting.

I see a rectangular object in the rear just to the right hand side of the middle of the oven

If it is right beside the oven burner, that will likely be the ignitor (aka glow bar).

oven was already present in the apartment

If the appliance is malfunctioning I suggest you contact the superintendent.

Thanks Dan, I appreciate your response, I had contacted him earlier and he gave instructions over the phone that were just not working. Unfortunately the place is a shore rental and my landlord is out of state. Guess I'll just have to grin and bear it for a few days. Thanks again though.
