Gas Stove Clicking

I rent and do not know the specifics of the Amana gas top stove but the gas burners started clicking this moring approx 6 hours ago and will not stop. They will lit when the gas is turned on but do not stop clicking .... AT ALL unless I turn off all the power to the kitchen.....any ideas?

Curtisclm,

You can get the model number off the stove itself. Post it here if you want more specific info.

Assuming that nobody spilled any liquid inside the control panel right before the igniters went crazy, I'd say that the problem is either with one of the spark switches (one switch mounted on each of the burner valves) or with the spark module.

You don't have to turn the power for the whole kitchen, just unplug the power cord for the stove. Try to remove all knobs and, using the hair dryer, dry the ignition switches (on the gas burner valves under the knobs). If there is just a moister then you should be able to bring it back to normal condition.
Good luck.
Gene.
