Today while baking with the top oven in the normal way the upper (broiler) element would not shut off. I tried everything that I could think of to shut it down but it would not respond. I had to trip the breaker in the electrical panel to get it to shut off. Two hours later I turned the breaker back on and the element came back on even with the door open. Is there a relay that might be stuck, a defective thermostat, or some other part that I might be able to replace to fix my problem?

The relays to control the functions of the elements are on the appliance's electronic control (see the link below). If one was shorted causing an element to always stay on, the control would usually need to be replaced to correct the condition. :(

Oven elements wouldn't usually shut off just when the door is opened even in a correctly operating appliance.

I have received the control board and wondered if there is an instruction sheet or something that will step me through the process of installing the new board.

Other than an instruction sheet which *might* pertain to and be included with the control itself, I don't know of where you'll find detailed repair instructions for that job, sorry.

I just finished installing the new board. All went well and after programming the cavity size plus checking the bake temperature calibration both ovens seem to be working well. Thanks very much for all your help and prompt replies as well as the prompt delivery of the needed part. I know that you helped save me mucho bucks.
Sincerely,
mnames
