Brand: -brand- Age: More than 10 years
Old Premier-LP gas--pilot light: Pilot light is on. Oven won't light--and hasn't for over 5 years. Range is over 30 years old. We thought we might start by replacing the thermocouple, but the brand is unavailable. Does it matter what kind of thermocouple we get, as long as the thermocouple is long enough? There are lots of generic thermocouples on the market. Is this where you would begin trouble shooting?

Model # ??..you may have the old style with a "flame switch". If this switch fails, the oven can not lite. Provide the Model # and I'll try and help out.
