kenmore oven issue: Initially the oven turned off by itself once in awhile and came back on by itself (clock blinking). It was so infrequent that we thought it was a power outage. Then recently, it began turning off and coming back on daily. Then it turned off by itself and did not come back on although the stovetop worked, the oven did not and the clock display was off. I checked the circuit breaker and it was on. I turned the breaker off and on and the oven came back on. Then, the oven turned off again and the clock turned off. Flipping the main breaker on and off did not correct. Stovetop works. I checked the outlet with an voltmeter and it reads 240. I checked the oven wiring on the back of the unit, testing the terminals. red/white reads 240 black/white reads 0, moves the needle about .5 centimeters Thaks for your help

Model Number: 790.9231

That model number is incomplete, did you get it right off the appliance's model and serial number identification tag?

You can find tips for locating the model and serial number identification tag on your appliances at the following link:

There should be 240 volts between the red and black wires of the main connection and 120 volts between both the red and white wires and between the black and white wires. The clock is connected between one of those 120 volt circuits.

JFYI
