Does any source exist for the metal inserts that go inside the burner valve stem to turn the gas burner on and off? It seems like I have to replace the whole knob since I've lost the metal insert.

I had the same problem, but bought replacement knobs anyway, with the thought that I would figure something out.

Fortunately, the new knobs came with the metal sleeve/insert.

Mixed feelings though, since this is the SECOND time I have had to replace the knobs since 2002. The first time, I ordered directly from Jenn-Air and no inserts were included.

Here are the details:

Model-- Jenn-Air gas cooktop Model jgc8536adw
Knobs-- Whirlpool Part number: 7400773
Part number: 7400773

Of course, the ideal situation is to find cast metal knobs that will fit. Jenn-Air has been no help.

Anyway, hope the above info aids someone for now.

Peace.
