I have a GE range and the model number is JGSS05BEA7BB. Today as I was turning off the oven, the temperature dial spun around and I took the plastic knob off to check on it and the metal know that controls the temperature fell back into the range. I set up an appointment with GE repair, but I'm not available until Tuesday AM. I just got home and the oven is on a bit because it is warm. Any suggestions as to how I can get the front panel off to try to fix or how to turn the gas off? I'm just at a loss right now and want to make sure I'll be okay to sleep tonight!

See if you can look behind the range for a gas shut off. You may have to pull it out a inch or two to get a look. All depends on how they run the gas line to the range.
