Default oven is dead
Model Number: kebs107dw1   Brand: Kitchen Aid   Age: 5 - 10 years

Appliance Parts from AppliancePartPros.com
performed a self cleaning and everything worked fine.
Next time I tried the oven, you could select broil, bake etc but the oven would not start. The oven indicates it was working but it does not.
I pulled the oven out and now there is no indication at all.
Checked for 240volts at terminal block and all is good.

Unfortunately there is no wiring diagram with the unit.
I bought this unit brand new.
Any ideas???

Cool Open safety?

Model Number: kebs107dw1
That model number appears to be incomplete (eg. kebs107dw__1).

Unfortunately there is no wiring diagram with the unit.
Did you look inside the control console? That is a common location for it.

Assuming your appliance's model number is KEBS107DWH1, you can download a PDF copy of the wiring information at the following link:

LINK > Whirlpool KEBS107DWH1 'Tech Sheet'

The oven indicates it was working but it does not.
The oven elements look to be fused or safety protected with a thermostat. The only one I see listed in the parts list is linked below.

LINK > KitchenAid KEBS107DWH1 Safety(?) Thermostat

If such a device was open, it could prevent all elements from heating but not affect the rest of the appliance's apparent functioning.

Dan O
I have relooked at the model number and you are correct it should be dw1
also so you know i am in Canada so the model starts with a Y.

I also talked with whirlpool and they advise me that it may be dwh1--the wh stands for white which would make sense.

I will look at the thermostat you suggest.

I did look inside the covers but no wiring diagram seems to be hidden there.

Cool

That is not what I said it should be. That is what you originally posted.

so the model starts with a Y
You didn't supply that when you posted the model number.

Hopefully your model has one because the wiring diagram I looked at isn't for a model starting with a "Y".

Good luck!

Hi Dan O
Sorry for misleading you.
When I had talked with the manufacturer they advised me that the Y did not mean anything except that it was sold in Canada.

I did find the thermostat and it was dead. Changed it but the control panel is still dead.

The complete model # is
YKEBS107DW1

Question "Dead"??

It is always best to supply exactly what information is listed on the appliance's identification tag. That's why it's there.

No lights or anything???

Dan O

Found the problem the white neutral wire became disconnected in the box.
The unit is hard wired and I suspect when I lifted it out I pulled on the wiring harness and the neutral became disconnected
I reconnected and all works perfectly. It was the thermostat.
Thanks Dan O I appreciate your help
