OUT OF THE BLUE MY OVEN SPEWED OUT AN ERROR CODE AND THE OVEN WAS NOT EVEN ON .WHEN I DID ATTEMPT TO BAKE SOMETHING IN THE OVEN IT STARTED TO WARM UP AND NOT TO MUCH LATER THE CODE CAME BACK AND TURNED THE OVEN OFF BUT KEPT BEEPING THE F-2 ERROR CODE .WHEN I LOOKED UP THIS ERROR CODE FOR MY BRAND OVEN I READ THIS :F2Oven temperature too hotReplace relay board, if present, or oven temperature sensor (RTD). Check sensor harness.
HOW DO I KNOW IF MY OVEN HAS A RELAY BOARD OR DO I ASSUME THE PROBLEM HAS TO BE THE (RTD)?..THANKS FOR ANY HELP!!

If the appliance is brand new it should be under warranty in which case you shouldn't be working on it at all. You could void its warranty!

I suggest you can an authorized Maytag/Whirlpool service agent for service.

Coupl not find info on a XTP only see XTW and XTA units.

I am assuming it is a gas unit.

The sensors are pretty standard as to how they work.

Check it with a meter

You will notice that the resistance rises as the temperature rises so if you have an open or bad connection from the sensor to the board it will also give a false high temp.
