Thermador XLO burners dont work - no gas or igniters
Model Number: SGCS365RS Brand: Thermador Age: 5 - 10 years
I recently replaced the potentiometers for both XLO burners on my Thermador cook top. Prior to replacing them, both burner's igniters would spark, but there was no gas flow. Also, other burners igniters would randomly spark when turning on the XLO burners. From info on this forum, it sounded like the potentiometers so I ordered and replaced them. After replacing them, I turned on the XLO burners - they both lit but their igniters (as well as one other burner) continued to spark repeatedly and would not stop even when turning off the valves for the burners. The sparking didn't stop until I cut the electrical power to the unit. Then, when I restored the power, and tried turning on the XLO burners, neither work. Now there is no ignitor or gas flow - no response of any kind to turning on either of the XLO burners. I did not use the potentiometer conversion kit that I've seen discussed on the forum because the serial number of my cook top (20070606NB) didn't appear to suggest that. I used the replacement part number AP2825524. Can anyone suggest a next move?
