Model Number: RGB535BEA8WH Brand: Hotpoint Age: 5 - 10 years
Yesterday, I placed a prime rib steak in the broiler and after 3 minutes I went to check on it but it was not cooked. I turned the knob to ensure that the problem wasn't the oven but to my surprise I only saw the IGNITER-OVEN BAKE/BROIL on. The burner never lit after 3 or 4 minutes. The stove top burners do work. Does the top stove elements have anything to do with how the broiler or oven operates? I cleaned the burner with a brush hoping that the problem was it may have had residue from much broiling but it did not go on or make a difference.
Although, I read many posts with similar problems, I wanted to make sure that the feedback about the solution was indeed the answer. Related Models Last edited by kdavila59 : 06-20-2009 at 08:17 PM. Reason: spelling and grammer |

replace the bake ignitor coil. you said it came on, so that means the control is good and so is the gas valve. what happens is the get weak, and they can't open the gas valve. replace it, and you will have it. tom
