I have an oven that won't reach the proper temp. I changed the temp probe, as it had a break in the insulation with a bare wire which looked like it was rubbing against a piece of the fan tunnel duct work, but this did not improve the proplem. I am now thinking it may be either the relay or the switch panel, as the probe plugs into this panel. Could the broken insulation caused a short destroying the relay or control panel? The article posted on this site says to replace the "control Panel" if the probe doesn't work. I searched for the "control panel" with my Magic Chef Model numbered oven/stove and was referred to the relay board instead. This also added to my confusion. Is there a "control panel" on this oven or is the relay the part responsible? Any help would be appreciated.

Sorry about the delay in answering but right after I submitted this question I was hospitalized for a slip and fall. Had to have a Knee replacement and surgery to repair both my hands. (The left one took 3 surgeries 12 pins 6 screws and 2 metal plates. Now that is done, the answer is yes the heating elements bot top and bottom turn red. Is there a way to test for a bad relay panel, probe, etc.? Thank you for your help with this!
