Help ...my oven locked on it's own while I was baking. I pulled the door, almost ripping the thing off the hinges (no burnt pie here!) but now I don't know how to get the lock slide back to it's original position so I can bake again with the door closed completely.:(

If you forced the door open while it was locked, some damage to the lock mechanism may have occurred. It would likely need to actually be inspected to determine what damage has occurred.

If you simply opened the door during the prosess of locking and the lock engaged while the door was open, the tip toward the end of the page at the following link might help.
