Thanks to this forum I was able to repair my range, thank you all. What it needed was a glow igniter, installed new one, now it bakes. However, when I was putting it all back together I noticed the oven bottom is contacting the igniter. After staring at it and thinking some, it occured to me that the slot cut out in the "heat shield" is not long enough, and maybe this is why the igniter failed in the first place. Too much continuous heat or something. Before I fire up the grinder and modify it, thought id ask you first. How is this supposed to work?
FYI the new igniter is in the same position as the factory installed one, and there is no adjustment. Seems to me I would have to cut out a good inch to make it work. What dont I know here? Thanks for any help.

I'm afraid I did not get it clear. If you can post pictures it might help.
Gene.
