The oven is not working on this unit. The broiler and range burners do work. I don't know if it is the igniter or the safety valve or the thermostat. What is the logical way to figure out which is to blame?
Thanks,
Ian

Hi Ian

The first thing I would do is check if 120V is coming to the bake igniter when the thermostat is calling for heat.

If there is 120V then the bake igniter has to be replaced.

If there is no 120V, check continuity across the gas safety valve terminals.

If it's open then the gas safety valve has to be replaced.

If there is continuity, then the oven thermostat has to be replaced.

- The part number for the bake igniter is AP2592343

The gas safety valve and the oven thermostat are no longer available.

Good luck.
Gene.

So, I'm kind of a rookie here. Can you elaborate the procedures for any of the above suggestions. I was wondering also, even if it is the igniter, is it worth it to fix this unit, since it sounds like other parts are not manufactured anymore, and they may be next...
Sorry about my ignorance,
Ian

In order to check the igniter you have to disconnect the igniter wires (or cut them off).

Instead of testing the power to the igniter you can check the igniter continuity and if it's open, then the igniter is bad and has to be replaced.

The only what I can tell you is my personal technical advise. The decision if it's worth or not should be yours.

Happy New year!

Hi David

How long takes to light up the burner since you turned the Bake "on"?

If it takes more then 60 seconds, then the problem is a bad bake igniter.

- The part number for the bake igniter is AP2150412

Happy New year!

Gene.
