Model Number: JCP67Y4WW Brand: GE Age: 5 - 10 years
I have a GE 40" electric range. I accidently started the cleaning cycle with the oven door ajar. I tried to stop the cleaning but found that the door latch was in the locked position. Now the door will not close.
I went to the GE web site to look at the manual but there is no JCP67Y4WW only JCP67YWW. The keypad in the latter's manual does not match my unit. The most significant difference is that my unit does not have an "off" or "clear" button. I have tried pulling the circuit breaker for 15 min. I have tried holding down the "up" and "down" arrow keys. I have tried to start the clean cycle again and finally tried to hold the door sensor switch then start self cleaning. There must be a button combination that will clear this unit. Can anyone help? Ads By Google Related Models Last edited by lan_rover : 06-15-2009 at 04:41 PM. |

just an additional comment to lan_rover's solution above: the "door open sensor" is the same sensor that controls the oven light. push it in and hold it until the locking latch moves slowly to the right (the unlock position).
