Model Number: CRE9400CCE (series 10) Brand: Maytag Age: 5 - 10 years
Last repairman from Sears (years ago) replaced the baking element through
the front, simply unplugged the left lead (red wire) and right lead (yellow wire), but apparently when putting the leads and element back into the rear wall, the red lead didn't stay taut and buckled. Eventually the element melted thru the wire's insulation and shorted to the element. I can find the new element, (bake element series 10 PN# 04000058) however I also need a new red lead wire, it fried thru and is no longer usable. It is located in the lower right corner of this diagram, 3 red leads from the terminal block, it is the middle one, about 10 " long. I can't find the wire anywhere, it says discontinued and I can't get a p/n either. Surely this wire can be replaced by another. It reads: 600V 16AWG prestolite P.G. CSA AWM XLPE 150C Please help? There must be another model with a similar wire that will work. Many thanks, Happy holidays....it looks like we're eating out. Orrrrrr,....I guess maybe I'll move the broil element wire to the bake element, until I find a replacement. Thanks , Tom in Colorado ![]() Ads By Google Related Models |
