Was given This stove and there is a part missing behind the door handle, at the top of the outer glass. Now there is an open slot, open to the cavity, about an inch high and runs the entire width of the door. Frigidaire's website parts drawing for my model #looks different than my door and does not show what part goes there. Can someone help me identify that part....now food and other objects can go through that open space to the interior of the door.

That's what I thought at first, but upon disassembling the door I found that part to be there intact. There's got to be something else that is supposed to go in the open space, but I don't see it on the diagram. Do you know if the doors for that specific model # stove could have been made differently by Frigidaire during the time they were making that model, i.e., maybe they changed the design. Or another thought, could the door on mine have come off of a different Frigidaire stove (after all the model # is on the cabinet of the stove only. I got it used, but it is in excellent condition except for the missing part I'm trying to identify.

Not without changing the appliance's model number as well. What I have seen happen a couple of times is a sales person swaps range doors on floor models without regard for latter needing parts for them. What a big pain!!
