The stove works fine if I am only using one burner. If I try to use two burners simultaneously, the second one will not light unless I hold a match to it (the pilot IS on) and the flame of the first burner is drastically reduced when I try to use a second burner. Also, if I am using a top burner, the oven will not work. There are a series of small "explosions" as it tries to ignite.

I think the problem is the gas regulator. It was made by the now-defunct Harper Wyman Company. I have been unable to get a part number from Whirlpool (the stove is about 40 years old), but I am hoping someone will know where I can get the gas regulator for the 31DA-7 stove, or will now of a substitute part that will work. It is not an electric regulator.

Thanks for that, Dan. I will give it a shot and see how it goes. Just out of curiosity, would any non-electric gas stove regulator work, as long as it was appropriate for use with natural gas?
