Amana oven & broiler quit at the same time- won't ignite
 

Both oven and broiler stopped working at the same time - won't ignite.
1.) I checked oven high temp limit - it was OK.
2.) I jumpered bake igniter and it turned the gas supply on so I figured that was the problem. I ordered the igniter from you and installed it. Still same problem - no ignition and no gas.
3.) Checked voltage to igniter - OK
to bake gas valve - OK

Would that indicate a bad gas valve (supplies gas to oven & broiler)?:cool:

If the ignitors are glowing the control system and all power components in between are good. That just leaves the ignitor and gas valve. Only an amperage test of the ignition circuit will determine whether the problem is in the ignitor or the gas valve (as described at the following link).

Have you since checked the bake valve for continuity? Bypassing the ignitor (which is not a good idea BTW) could have fried it. :rolleyes:
