I was baking a cake and all of a sudden the oven buzzed and then popped and then there was a puff of smoke. The oven continued to work. The preheat light stayed on the whole time. :(It takes a little longer to cook food. :(I called the number here and they referred me to the board. The broiler element and the oven element both still heat. :confused:Help.....what so you think I need to do?

Quote:Model Number: 790.9621208 That model number is incorrect. It looks to be missing a digit. I'm guessing 790.96212 408 Quote:The preheat light stayed on the whole time. There's a slim chance that might be caused by a short in the range somewhere (elements or wiring) but more likely a problem in the electronic control itself.
